What, When, Where
Events format at Titirangi
Normally you can expect our events to have the following formats:-
- Friday Club
- Usually held on the fourth Friday of each month. No MC - Informal get together for club members or visitors to share their songs or music. A great opportunity to try out some new material or get comfortable playing in front of a small friendly audience.
- Club Night
- Usually held the second Saturday of each month.
Entertainment in the first half is provided by local artists performing two items each. This is invariably an eclectic mix of musical style and genres, including unaccompanied singers, song- writers, solo performers, groups and a wide range of musical instruments.
Then comes supper (which is included in the admission charge) followed by the featured guest artist(s) who play for around 45 minutes after the supper break. These acts will either be drawn from the finest of the New Zealand acoustic music scene or will be visiting overseas performers. They may be solo or group acts and the styles of music will vary each month - from a capella to Appalachian; from ballads to blues; from harmony to humour; and everything in between
- Concert Night
- From time to time we have special concert evenings featuring some of the topmost musicians touring the country. These are usually international acts but we occasionally feature outstanding performers from various parts of New Zealand.
We also have built into these concert evenings a 20min slot for a local support artist to 'showcase' their talent to the audience. We believe this to be a very important function of the club in supporting our local talent. This is the Club's opportunity to bring great acts to entertain us and encourage more of the general public to come and sample what the club can offer.
Everyone is welcome to come along to any of these evenings.
You don't have to be a member and you can be assured of a warm welcome and a
wonderful evening's entertainment.
