Acoustic Artistry from Christchurch Guitar Maestro
The evening opens with a set from Judith McNeil, Poet, Singer, Songwriter.

After all our Overseas & international visitors in recent months who better than Bev to remind us that we have local artists of the highest calibre.
Beverley Young is rather good at this singing business. Who says so? Well, Martin Carthy and Andy Irvine are a couple of good names to start with. Then there are the audiences she's delighted in folk clubs and festivals all over New Zealand and in Australia. There's the judges of the Tui awards, who gave her one award, and made her a finalist for two others. Not to mention the many aspiring singers she has mentored in her vocal workshops. They all agree, Beverley Young is one of the best singers New Zealand folk has to offer. (They all agree, that is, except for the ones who say she is the best.)
She made her name singing British traditional folksong; that is still the core of her repertoire, but songs at a concert today can also come from Irish traditional sources, traditional or ‘alt’ country, modern songwriters – or anything else that takes Beverley's fancy.
An informal ‘Singaround’ when a smaller group of people meet to share their songs and music.
