Once more our club has been entrusted with running the Auckland Folk Festival Welcome Concert in The Mill on Friday Jan 23rd. We've invited some of the very best performers on the Auckland Folk scene to welcome Festival visitors to one of the best weekends on the folk calendar. So be in the Mill by 8pm and get your festival off to a cracking start.

Our November 2008 guests. Madeline Beasley & Dinah Saxby first met whey they attended Bev Young's Vocal Workshop a few years ago. Since then they've teamed up to produce a rich meld of vocal harmony & instrumentation. 
Terry Free was our guest in September 2008 where a traditionally ribsplitting time was had by all. Terry's fine singing & hilarious stories will leave you awestruck.
Ronrossie are club members Ron Baker, Rosemary Thomas & Sieffe LaTrobe. All fine musicians individually, together they add up to something really quite special.
Ride Easy took the club by storm when they opened for Florabunda in November 2008 with their fast bluegrass rhythms and cool vocal harmonies.
Brownie McGhee wanted Neil Finlay to join him on his world tour. Could a bluesman seek a better recomendation than that? So there you have the Welcome Concert line-up for the 2009 Auckland Folk Festival. It's sure to be a great start to another Festival so come along and share in the people and the music.

The Club was conceived in 1965 when the Clancy Brothers didn't come and someone had the astounding idea of having a sing-a-round thus transforming an audience into a folk group. Formally established in 1966 we're still going strong.
