Festival Welcome Concert

at Auckland Folk Festival Kumeu Showgrounds from Friday January 29^th – Monday February 1^st 2010.

Once more our club has been entrusted with running the Auckland Folk Festival Welcome Concert in The Mill on Friday Jan 29^th. We've invited some of the very best performers on the Auckland Folk scene to welcome Festival visitors to one of the best weekends on the folk calendar. So be in the Mill by 8pm and get your festival off to a cracking start.
- Claire & Kirsty Robertson. If you saw them open for Martin Pearson in November you'll definitely want to see them again tonight.
- Brouhaha. Hot from their success at our Christmas Clubnight - Lew Black, Andrew Gough and Warren Payne. Expect the unexpected.
- Martha Louise drawing on a mix of originals, singer/songwriter, folk, country and bluegrass on guitar and dulcimer, most probably with friends.
- Paul Howarth with songs from the folk revival singers of northern England & NZ, and possibly some English or Kiwi trad.
- Beyondsemble specialising in diversity, an eclectic mix of tunes and songs executed with virtuoso skill, passion, energy and joy.
- Wires and Wood cover the bluegrass spectrum from sad and lonesome to driving and dynamic.
