• AGM

  

  The usual stuff:-

  • We accept the record of the previous AGM as true and accurate, after making any alterations necessary to make that so.
  • We accept a report from the President on the activities of the club over the last year, and get to question or comment on that activity as we feel necessary.
  • We accept a report from the Treasurer on the financial health of the club over the last year, and get to question or comment on that activity as we feel necessary.
  • We get to elect a new President / Vice President / Secretary / Treasurer (different roles/different people).
  • We get to elect up to 6 other club members form the governing Committee of the club for the coming year.
  • We get to discuss any other matter concerning the running of the club that any club member wishes to bring up for discussion.

  To vote at the AGM you MUST be a ‘financial’ member of the Titirangi Folk Music Club. If you are not sure of your financial status in this respect then please check with our treasurer Leanne Appleby via our contacts page or Phone 813 0608.

  Dinah Saxby and Madeline Beasley met at a Beverley Young workshop at the Bunker fourteen years ago and have been singing together ever since.

  They enjoy harmonizing a range of different songs from folk to blues and have just produced their debut album Frolicsome & Easy.

  • What do you do? – We chat, sing, play music and support each other
  • Do I need to be a member? – No, Everyone is Welcome, if you like it, join later
  • Do I need to play an instrument? – No but if you're learning then we will help you
  • Am I too old? – No, you're never too old or too young to sing or to make music

  What is Folk Music? – You'll be amazed at what is covered by the heading Folk Music: from traditional finger in the ear to modern acoustic, soft lilting ballads to modern Folk Rock, the field is huge and there is a little bit in there for everyone.

  We're a totally informal, small friendly group of people who like to sing and play music. If you do not sing or play and would like to then here you'll find encouragement. There is never any pressure and you may wish to visit a few times to get confidence or you may already be confident, it does not matter, no one will criticize, only support.

The Club was conceived in 1965 when the Clancy Brothers didn't come and someone had the astounding idea of having a sing-a-round thus transforming an audience into a folk group. Formally established in 1966 we're still going strong.
