WAAMfest
Guests
- Martin Curtis
- is a New Zealand singer and songwriter who lives in Cardrona in the foothills of the Southern Alps, a place that has become the inspiration behind much of his music. He has been writing and singing songs about his adopted country for over 30 years, and has recorded and released 10 albums, many of them celebrating New Zealand and the people who helped make it what it is today.
- Lindsey Shields
- is a singer/songwriter from Dunedin. She has performed both locally and overseas and has been a guest at all the major NZ festivals as well as the National Folk Festival in Canberra and the Vancouver Island Music Festival.
- Supersheep
- is a trad singing group par excellence, comprising 5 renowned Auckland singers who have joined forces to keep the old traditions alive in changing times ... and have a lot of fun with it. And when Supersheep has fun, so does their audience. There will also be separate concerts from:
- Celtic Ferret (Ian Bartlett & Jean Reid)
- Al & Beverley Young
- Nick Johnston & Clare Senior
- Terry Free
- Summer Breeze
- is Robin Nelson and Rosemary Thomas, two accomplished singer/songwriters who have combined their talents to great effect. They sing both self penned songs and covers, their voices complement each other perfectly and their beautiful harmonies add an extra dimension to their performances.
- Geoff Rowe
- is "Kind of funny, kind of melancholic ... but also happy. If you took Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop and RnB, Geoff would be none of those things", according to one of his numerous fans. He draws inspiration from many different musical styles and his songs are highlighted by his deceptively clever lyrics, and his blurbs about himself in the third person.
- Shimna’s List
- There’s no shortage of high energy dance music in the form of jigs and reels from Ireland, Scotland and Cape Breton, as Shimna channels the playing styles of her favourite fiddlers, accompanied by flute which brings the music to soaring new heights, and backed by the authentic Irish rhythm section of DADGAD guitar and bodhran.
