No meeting this month - last good sleep before the Auckland Folk Festival!
Pete Grassby is a frequent visitor to New Zealand, performing and dancing the length and breadth of the land. His dance calling is as legendary as his humour and musicianship.
Pete plays melodeon and guitar, has a fine voice and a huge repertoire of tunes, songs and humorous stories.
Titirangi’s Februry Club Night will take on a Ceilidh format with Pete as our guest calling some dances and singing some songs, all interspersed with items from other performers.
So why not spend our February Ceilidh evening in his company and have a dance or two or just sit and enjoy the music and laughter and watch the fun of the dance.
What is Folk Music? – You'll be amazed at what is covered by the heading Folk Music: from traditional finger in the ear to modern acoustic, soft lilting ballads to modern Folk Rock, the field is huge and there is a little bit in there for everyone.
We're a totally informal, small friendly group of people who like to sing and play music. If you do not sing or play and would like to then here you'll find encouragement. There is never any pressure and you may wish to visit a few times to get confidence or you may already be confident, it does not matter, no one will criticize, only support.
