About Titirangi Folk Music Club

Who we are:

TITIRANGI FOLK MUSIC CLUB has been a vital part of the Titirangi music scene since its inception in 1965. It has provided a performance venue for local acoustic musicians and singers and a source of enjoyment for audience members. It has been the breeding ground for much prodigious musical talent and has hosted concerts by many wonderful performers from both New Zealand and overseas.

The term “folk music” means different things to different people but basically we believe that all music played by folk is folk music. So you will hear a wide range of music from all genres. The difference from many musical venues is that the music you hear will be “acoustic” – live music as it is meant to be heard. Sometimes, mainly at “Concert Night” events we will enhance the natural sound with what we hope is “just enough” amplification, the minimum necessary. Most of our events have no amplification whatsoever, made possible by the wonderful natural acoustics of the Beach Hall.
